On September 12, 2019 at approximately 12:18 pm Grant County Deputies responded to a report of a male subject who had made some vague comments of being on the news and was in possession of a pistol inside Yesterdaze Tavern located at 7911 CTY U in the Township of Beetown. Deputies located Brian Irish, age 60 from the rural Lancaster area, and detained him while they investigated the matter. Eventually deputies were able to locate the pistol Irish had hidden outside of the bar once he had learned the authorities had been called. The firearm was loaded and Irish was discovered to be impaired as well as a convicted felon. Irish was also discovered to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Irish was arrested for: Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Endangering Safety by Use of a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying a Handgun Where Alcoholic Beverages May Be Sold and Consumed, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Irish was transported to the Grant County Jail where he was later released, after an initial court appearance, on a signature bond.
