The Marquette City Council appointed Dave Schneider to fill a vacancy on the council.  Schneider will fill the remainder of the term that was held by Pam Brody-Fitzgerald, who resigned.  The position will be on the ballot in November.
The Council approved purchasing nearly five-acres of property from the school.  The property is located by the ballfield in Marquette.  The school will be giving the ballfield to the city, and the city will purchase the adjacent property for 28-thousand.
The Council approved the purchase of a solar project at the Shop and Wetland Centre for 16-thousand-five hundred.
