Pedestrian Hit

Prairie Du Chien Police released more information on an incident involving a pedestrian that was hit by a train.  Police report at a 23-year old man from Prairie Du Chien was injured when the BNSF Railway train struck him at around 6pm on Wednesday.  Police report that the man was wearing headphones and did not hear the approaching train.  Operators activated the horn and emergency brakes but were unable to stop in time.  The man was taken to Crossing Rivers Health for treatment of injuries, his name has not been released.  The crossings at Parish and Mooney streets were closed for about 45-minutes following the accident.  The incident remains under investigation.
