Vessell Call

On Sunday the US Coast Guard Auxiliary facility Kaylee-Annie out of Prairie du Chien was on a routine night patrol when she  came upon a 24-foot pontoon boat with a family of six on board, including several children, and with no lights on their vessel. The lack of lighting in the dark made it quite difficult for them to see or be seen, a very dangerous situation endangering everyone on board as well as other vessels.

The Kaylee-Annie safely escorted the vessel from the mouth of Harper's Slough to her home port near Noble Landing.

The skipper of the disabled vessel stated that his lights were working but had quit.

The Coast Guard Auxiliary reminds everyone that before venturing out onto the river in their boat a thorough check of all the vessels safety equipment should be made.
