On 7/31/19 at 8:25 PM, Crawford County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a power pole and wires leaning over the roadway on Highway 27 in the area of Severson Road. Two Crawford County deputies responded and discovered the power pole was struck by a black Pontiac Grand Prix which left the roadway, struck the pole, rolled over once, then came to rest in a cornfield. The car was heavily damaged from the impact. The reporting party recognized the driver who then fled the scene in a white van. After investigation, it was determined that Tiffany J. McKittrick, age 31 of Viroqua, crashed the vehicle then got a ride from Shawn Otterson, age 40, to his residence in nearby Fairview. Tiffany was uninjured in the crash.

Criminal charges are being referred to the District Attorney for Operating After Revocation and Obstruction of Justice. Tiffany was cited for hit and run, fail to report an accident, failure to keep the vehicle under control, operate without insurance, failure to wear a seat belt, and failure to maintain vehicle brakes.
