On June 19, 2019 at 2:43pm, Clayton County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the Highway 18 on ramp in Marquette for a traffic violation. Deputies came into contact with 31 year old Mitchell Kubik of Iowa City. Deputies observed illegal narcotics in the vehicle. Upon further investigation, Deputies located, marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Kubik was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance- methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance- marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

On June 20, 2019, Clayton County Deputies took custody of 40 year old Christopher Curtis of Aurora from the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office for a Clayton County Warrant for theft 2nddegree. Curtis was transported to the Clayton County Jail.

 

On June 21, 2019, Clayton County Deputies took custody of 59 year old Wesley Wood of Sumner from the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office for a Clayton County Warrant for theft 2nd degree. Wood was transported to the Clayton County Jail.

 

On June 21, 2019 at 6:39am, Clayton County Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident on East Mission Road near Dogwood Ave. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Tyler Ingles of Elkport was operating a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado when he lost control. His vehicle entered the ditch and overturned causing $4,000 damage. Ingles was cited for failure to maintain control. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Strawberry Point Fire and Strawberry Point Ambulance.

 

On June 22, 2019 at 10:22pm, Clayton County Deputies responded to a car vs cow on Highway 18 near 135th Street. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Michael Rubendall of Monona was operating a 2016 Ford Escape when he struck a cow causing $5,000 damage. Deputies also determined that a second vehicle, a 2000 Ford Mustang operated by Andrew Kleitsch of Monona had also struck the cow causing $6,000 damage. No injuries were reported. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Monona Police Department, Monona Ambulance, MarMac Ambulance, and the Farmersburg First Responders.

 

On June 24, 2019 at 7:12pm, Clayton County Deputies responded to a car vs deer accident on Highway 56 near Basswood Ave. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Kraig Allison of Elkader was operating a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan when he struck a deer causing $2,500 damage. No injuries were reported.

 

On June 25, 2019 at 1:53pm, Clayton County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 13 near 175th Street. Deputies came into contact with 56 year old David Sealy of Cedar Rapids. Deputies determined that Sealy’s driving privileges were suspended. Deputies also located a loaded syringe containing methamphetamine. Sealy was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was charged with speeding, no insurance, fraudulent use of registration, possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

On June 26, 2019 at 10:45pm, Clayton County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Main Street in McGregor. Deputies came into contact with 24 year old Joseph Rosacker of Guttenberg. Upon further investigation, Rosacker was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was charged with operating while intoxicated 1st offense, and unsafe backing onto a highway.

 

On June 27, 2019 at 9:12am, Clayton County Deputies were dispatched to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 13 and Bridge Street. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Rosalie Stickler of Monona was operating a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox when she turned onto Bridge Street, lost control and struck a mail delivery truck operated by Jaclyn Lessard of Volga casuing $12,000 to her Equinox. The mail truck sustained $4,000 damage. Stickler was transported to Mercy One Elkader for treatment of minor injuries. Stickler was cited for failure to maintain control.

 

On June 28, 2019, Clayton County Deputies arrested 47 year old Dustin Millard of Strawberry Point on a Clayton County Warrant for Failure to appear. Millard was transported to the Clayton County Jail.

 

On June 29, 2019 at 5:27pm, Clayton County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on West Mission Street. Deputies came into contact with 59 year old Larry Herman of Manchester. Deputies observed signs of impairment and conducted field sobriety testing. The Clayton County K9 was deployed and K9 Raven indicated to a presence of illegal narcotics in the vehicle. Upon further investigation, a Drug Recognition Expert with the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office determined that Herman was under the influence of illegal narcotics. A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle where Deputies located, methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Herman was arrest and charged with possession of a controlled substance 3rd offense-methampetamine (Class “D” Felony), possession of a controlled substance- marijuana (Class “D” Felony), operating while intoxicated-drugged 1st offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Strawberry Point Police Department.

 

On June 30, 2019 at 5:18pm, Clayton County Deputies responded to a one vehicle rollover on Skip Level Road. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Richard Miller of Colesburg was operating a 1982 American Motors CJ7 when he lost control. His vehicle entered the ditch and overturned causing $2,500 damage. The Guttenberg Police Department assisted at the scene.

 

On July 2, 2019, Clayton County Deputies arrested 36 year old Shantel Cochran of Strawberry Point on a Black Hawk County Warrant for probation violation. Cockran was transported to the Clayton County Jail and later released to the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office.

 

On July 2, 2019 at 6:01am, Clayton County Deputies responded to a hit and run accident on South Page Street in Monona. Deputies determined that a Maroon 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer was struck by an unknown vehicle.
