Motorcycle Fatality US Hwy 151
On 06-01-19 at 6:02pm a report was received by the Grant County Sheriff's Office of a motorcycle crash on Hwy 151 at Exit 1. Michael L. Belter 51, Freeport Ill. was south bound on his 2011 Harley Davidson. Tina M. Herramann 51, freeport Ill., was a passenger on the motorcycle. While negotiating a curve, the motorcycle entered the median strking an embankment. Herramann was pronounced dead by the Grant County Coroners Office at the scene. Belter was transported to Mercy Hospital by Dickeyville Ambulance. Assisting at the scene was Jamestown first responders and fire department, Dickeyville EMS, and WI State Patrol. The crash remains under investigation.
This is the 5th person killed in a motor vehicle crash in 2019.

Glen Haven man attempts to flee from trafic stop
On June 2, 2019 at approximately 7:51 p.m., a Grant County Deputy initiated a traffic stop on Texas Rd for a vehicle with a driver operating while revoked. Gerald Mumm, 64 of rural Glen Haven was operating his 2004 Chevrolet tracker. Mumm's driving status is revoked. When the Deputy initiated the stop Mumm refused to pull over. Mumm lead the deputy on a low speed chase for approximately five miles. Mumm drove to his home on Cottonwood Rd and parked in his front yard. Mumm refused to exit the vehicle. After back up arrived Mumm was again ordered to exit the vehicle and he refused. Mumm was removed from the vehicle and arrested. The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Wisconsin DNR. Mumm was booked into the Grant County Jail for OWI second offense, obstructing, and felony eluding.
Mumm was also cited for operating after revocation.

On June 2, 2019 at 12:23 PM a one vehicle rollover was reported on Hwy 151 North of Badger Road in Jamestown Township. Joshua Kolb, age 33 of Oconomowoc, was driving a 2005 Honda southbound when he left the roadway and entered the center median. The vehicle then rolled 2 times coming to rest on its roof in the northbound lane of traffic. Kolb was assisted from the vehicle by an off duty Dubuque Police Officer and was transported to Mercy Hospital by Dickeyville EMS for his injuries. Kolb was wearing his seatbelt. The vehicle owned by Dean Kolb received heavy damage and was removed from the scene by the Kieler Service Center. The Jamestown First Responders and Fire Department assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

Muscoda man creates disturbance, arrested for OWI 1st.
On June 2, 2019 at approximately 7:55 p.m., a Grant County Deputy was investigating a property complaint on Pine Rd in Muscoda Township.
James Heffner, 61 of rural Muscoda drove by the Deputy who was standing next to a marked patrol car in a driveway across the road from Heffner's residence. Heffner was driving his 1971 Chevy El camino. Heffner came to a complete stop on Pine Rd then accelerated abruptly. Heffner drove to his driveway approximately 200 feet down the road. Heffner parked in his driveway and revved the loud engine of his classic car repeatedly creating a disturbance. The Grant County Deputy made contact with Heffner. Heffner stated he was coming from the bar. After a brief investigation Heffner was arrested for OWI 1st. Heffner was transported to the Grant County Jail. Heffner was cited for OWI 1st and Disorderly Conduct. This incident is still under investigation.
