Assault Arrest

On 5/30/19 at 5:49 AM the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a 911 call reporting a Domestic Assault that had occurred in a moving vehicle. Fayette County Deputy’s located the vehicle at 50th St and Palace Rd. An investigation determined that Roger Dean Hall II age 32 from Oelwein had physically assaulted a female while she was operating a vehicle with three minor children inside the vehicle. Roger Hall put the vehicle in park while the vehicle was moving and took control of the vehicle. Hall intentionally drove the vehicle into the ditch at Hwy 3 and R Ave with all occupants inside and then drove the vehicle to 50th St and Palace Rd where he parked and began walking toward Oelwein. Hall was located in the 900 block of North Frederick by Oelwein Police. He was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail where he was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault 3rd or subsequent (Class D Felony), Operating a vehicle without owners consent, (aggravated misdemeanor), Reckless Driving (simple misdemeanor), Driving while license suspended (Simple Misdemeanor) and Child Endangerment (aggravated misdemeanor) Hall was held in the Fayette County Jail awaiting an initial appearance with a Magistrate.
