On May 14, 2019, at approximately 1:37 AM the Fayette County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call of a semi rollover on Highway 18 in the 13,000 block approximately 1 mile west of West Union. After further investigation, it was determined that Tony Ray Raske, age 44 of Alden, was operating a Red 2012 International TR Semi and hauling a 2017 Load King trailer full of approximately 5,000 chickens. Raske was west bound when he lost control and entered the south side ditch. Raske and a child passenger received minor injuries, but were released on scene. The chickens were rounded up and loaded on to another Semi. Approximately half of the chickens were deceased. The Semi and trailer are a total loss. Raske was cited for Failure to Maintain Control.
