One Vehicle Roll over

On May 5 2019 around 3:50 a.m., the Grant County Sheriff's Department received a 911 call of one vehicle rollover crash that occurred on Kirkwood Rd, near Cty Z in Jamestown Township. The investigating deputy found Martin Shelliam (18) of Hazel Green, was on his way home in a 2004 Saturn Ion when he fell asleep and drove off of the roadway. The vehicle rolled one time. Martin had minor injuries and was transported to a hospital by Hazel Green EMS. Hazel Green Fire Department was also on scene. The vehicle was removed by Kieler Service Center.

Single vehicle crash with injury

On 05-06-19 at approximately 6:32 p.m., a one vehicle crash with injury was reported to the Grant County Sheriff's Office. Craig E. Zimpel, age 42 Boscobel, was south bound on Cty Hwy G just south of Studnicka Rd. with his 2002 Acura. Zimpel entered the ditch and rolled his vehicle. Zimpel was transported by Med-flight as a result of his injury. Assisting at the scene was Muscoda Fire, EMS and Police, UW Med Flight, Terrys Tire and Tow. The crash remains under investigation.

Burglary and theft of a Kabuto lawn tractor

On or about May 8, 2019, an unknown individual or individual forced open a service door to a machine shed on River View Ln. in the Township of Marion. The individual responsible opened a garage door and stole a 2017 Kabuto lawn tractor out of the shed. The lawn tractor has a slow moving vehicle attached and the mower has a fold down roll bar. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the Grant County Sheriff's Office.

Driver Fled from One Vehicle Rollover

On May 8, 2019, at approximately 7:30 pm, Grant County Dispatch received a report of a vehicle on it's top in the east ditch of Cty U, north of S Boice Creek Rd. Upon arrival, a 2003 white Ford Explorer, registered to Jesse A Irish, age 31, of Westfield, WI, was found. The operator was traveling southbound on Cty U, left the pavement and entered the west shoulder, over corrected, crossed the center line and entered the east shoulder. The vehicle struck the east ditch, overturned and came to a rest on it's top. The vehicle suffered major damage and upon the deputy's arrival, the driver had fled the scene. The Potosi EMS, Potosi Fire, and Bennett's Towing, of Lancaster, assisted on scene. The crash remains under investigation.

Menominee Ln Truck Fire

On May 8, 2019 the Grant County Sheriff's Department received a 911 call of a fully engulfed truck fire on Menominee Ln in Jamestown Township. The investigating deputy found Danial Foht (34) of Dubuque, was pulling out of a driveway onto Menominee Lane in a 1972 Ford truck when the truck started on fire. He safely got out of the truck and was not injured. The truck was a complete loss due to the fire damage. Jamestown Fire Department, and Jamestown First Responders were also on scene.
