Anhydrous Accident

On 04-26-19 at approximately 0801 hours, the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office, Dubuque County Emergency Management, Key West Fire and Ambulance, and Dubuque Fire Department responded to the area of 7152 Olde Massey Rd for a report of an accident that caused a tank of anhydrous ammonia to roll over and begin leaking. Investigation showed that Austin Willenborg (27 yoa), of Epworth, was pulling a tank containing anhydrous ammonia southbound on Olde Massey Rd when he lost control and rolled the tank over, causing it to leak.

Approximately one mile of Olde Massey Rd was shut down completely, for approximately three hours. No injuries were reported. Willenborg was transported to Mercy ER for precautionary measures. The accident remains under investigation with charges pending.
