Crawford Charges

On April 1, 2019, at approximately 4:00am, a Crawford County deputy came across a vehicle stopped partially in the lane of traffic near the intersection of County Rd. E. and STH 60. The deputy observed that the 2004 Chevrolet Blazer had its hazard lights on and that there was a male individual walking near the vehicle. The deputy identified the male as Derek McDiarmid, age 25 of Blue River. Upon making contact with Derek, the deputy observed extremely prominent indicators of narcotics impairment. Derek is currently on bond through Richland, Grant and Sauk counties for methamphetamine-related charges.
Furthermore, it was discovered that Derek did not have a valid driver’s license. Field sobriety tests and urinalysis were later conducted. It was discovered that Derek was under the influence of methamphetamine and THC. Derek was transported to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and charged with felony bail jumping, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a restricted controlled substance- 2nd offense, and operating without a valid driver’s license-2nd offense.
