Monona Council

The Monona City Council appointed Tim Wright to fill the vacancy on the Council.  Wright will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Doug Buchman.  The position will be on the ballot in November.
The Council received three proposals for outsourcing solid waste collection.  A committee will review the proposals and make a recommendation to the Council.
They approved a hot water boiler at the Aquatic Center for nearly 22-thousand.  They approved a bid to remove the 1914 Water Tower at a cost of nearly 15-thousand.
The city of Monona received word that they have received a grant from Iowa Homeland Security for two outdoor warning sirens in the city.  The cost will be 40-thousand, with the city paying five-thousand.
They set Appliance and Electronics Collection Day for May 8th from 3 until 6pm.
