Prison Sentence

A Dyersville man who pleaded guilty to charges in connection with sexually abusing a teen boy has been sentenced to five years in prison.  19-year old Jacob Ahlers pleaded guilty to a charges of assault with intent to commit sex abuse, along with aiding and abetting third-degree burglary in a seperate case.  The Telegraph Herald reports that Ahlers entered a boy's bedroom at a residence in Edgewood in December of 2017 and sexually assaulted the boy.  Ahlers was orginally charged with third-degree sexual abuse.  In the burglary case, Ahlers broke into a home in Colesburg on June of 2017 and took property valued between five-hundred and one-thousand dollars.
