Fayette Accidents

On Sunday, February 24, 2019 at 12:38 PM the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a two vehicle accident on K Ave. near 60th Street.  When Deputies arrived, it was learned that 18 year old Kaylee Fernatte of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin was driving her 2008 Pontiac G6 southbound when she became stuck in a snow drift.  A 2004 Nissan Xterra driven by 22 year old Nicholas Houg of Fayette ran into Fernette’s vehicle due to the blowing snow and poor visibility.  Fernette’s vehicle sustained around $2000 worth of damage, and Houg’s vehicle sustained around $5000 worth of damage.  No Injuries were reported.  This accident remains under investigation.

 

On February 24, 2019 at 12:03 PM the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two vehicle accident on Hwy 150 near 190th Street.  When Deputies arrived, it was learned that 54 year old Mark Lauer of West Union was driving his 2009 Chevy Silverado north bound on Hwy 150 when he slowed down due to the poor visibility from blowing snow.  A 1997 Mercury Tracer driven by Vanese Lynn Bantz of Fayette, failed to slow down for the poor visibility and collided with the rear end of Lauer’s vehicle.  Lauer’s vehicle sustained around $2000 worth of damage and Bantz’s vehicle sustained around $3000 worth of damage.  No injuries were reported and this accident remains under investigation.
