Disturbance Arrest

On February 2, 2019, at 0200 the Manchester Police Department and Delaware County Sheriff’s Department were called to 420 South Tama Street, for a disturbance. When officers arrived on the scene they met with the defendant and victim. Officers were informed the defendant took her purse which contained her keys and cell phone, then refused to allow the victim to leave his apartment. The victim was eventually able to get away from the defendant and ran to a family member’s house where the defendant attempted to forcefully enter the home causing damage to the door. When officers attempted to take the defendant into custody the defendant struck an officer. The defendant was taken into custody and transported to the Delaware County Jail.

Joshua James Meister (age 36) of Manchester, Iowa

 

Charges: 

Assault a Simple Misdemeanor

False Imprisonment a Serious Misdemeanor

Assault on a Peace Officer a Class D Felony

Criminal Mischief (enhanced) a Class D Felony

Interference with Official Acts a Simple Misdemeanor
