On December 28, 2018 at 8:15 A.M., the Grant County Sheriff's Office was notified of a two vehicle crash, on Hwy 18 at Park Rd, Mt. Ida Township. Sheriff deputies and Fennimore Fire and EMS, along with Lancaster EMS, were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, it was determined that Renae Hilger, age 18 of Fennimore, was driving her 2015 Chevy Cruze, east on Hwy 18. Ms. Hilger crossed the centerline and struck a 2014 Nissan Sentra, which was traveling west bound and was being driven by Gabriel Graber, age28 of Livingston. Ms. Graber
swerved to avoid a head-on crash and Hilger vehicle struck the driver's side of the Graber vehicle. Fennimore Fire and EMS were able to free Ms. Graber from the vehicle with the use of the Jaws of Life. Ms. Graber was transported to the Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster with non life threatening injures. Ms. Hilger was also transported to the Grant Regional Health Center with non life threatening injures. The injured parties were wearing seat beats and both vehicles were a total loss. Ms. Hilger was issued a citation for Operating left of the
centerline. Both vehicles were removed by Collision Specialists. Assisting the Sheriff's Office at the scene was the Grant County Highway Department, Fennimore Fire and EMS, along with Lancaster EMS.

Farm Tractor vs Pickup/Trailer Crash
On December 28, 2018 the Grant County Sheriff's Office responded to a two vehicle crash on CTH HH near Shoestring Rd located in the Township of Paris. Shawn Dietzel, age 21 from rural Cuba City was traveling northbound on CTH HH in a in a Case IH MXM130 pulling a Jaylor 6550 TMR mixer. Jordan Bischoff, age 26 from Monroe, WI, was also traveling northbound on CTH HH in a 2013 Chevy Silverado pulling a flatbed trailer loaded with a John Deere UTV. Dietzel was turning left into a driveway. At the same time Bischoff was attempting to pass the tractor on the left in a no passing zone. The rear passenger side tire on Bischoff's trailer struck the front driver's side tire on the tractor. Both the trailer and tractor sustained disabling damages at the point of impact. The Chevy Silverado was not damaged but the trailer was removed from the scene by Guy's Truck and Tractor of Kieler. The Case IH tractor was removed by the operator. Bischoff was cited for
passing farm machinery in a no passing zone. No one was injured in the crash. The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted in the matter by the Grant County Highway Department for traffic control.

On Dec. 29th at approximately 9:12 pm, the Grant County Sheriff's Office took a report of a one vehicle rollover crash off of HWY 133 west of Boscobel. Colton Rutherford, age 23 of Boscobel, was westbound on HWY 133 in his 2016 Dodge Charger Hellcat. Amber Friederick, age 19 of Fennimore, was a passenger in the vehicle. Rutherford left the north side of the roadway at a high rate of speed, striking a driveway embankment and went airborne for over 150 feet. The vehicle rolled several times and came to rest on its side. Both Rutherford and Friederick were entrapped inside of the vehicle. Rutherford and Friederick were extricated from the vehicle and transported to the hospital by EMS. The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by the Boscobel Fire Department, Boscobel EMS, Boscobel Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Terry's Tire and Tow of Boscobel. This incident is still under investigation.

One vehicle crash
On December 31, 2018, at approximately 5:37 p.m., the Grant County Sheriff's office was notified of a vehicle in the ditch facing the wrong direction near Splinter Lane on STH 80 in Lima Township. Kylie A Washburn, age 17 of Rewey lost control of her 2006 Chevy Malibu while negotiating a curve. The vehicle crashed into the rock wall and sustained moderate damage. Kylie was not injured in the crash and the Malibu was towed from the scene by Precision Automotive of Platteville.
