On 12-25-18, At approximately 3:45 PM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Hwy 56 and Cedar Rd.  After an investigation, Justin Douglas Pattison, 35 of Sumner, was arrested on multiple charges; including Driving While License Barred, an aggravated misdemeanor, Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Offense, an Aggravated Misdemeanor, OWI 2nd  Offense, an aggravated misdemeanor, 2 counts of Child Endangerment both aggravated misdemeanors, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor, Fraudulent Use of Registration, Driving with No Insurance, Fail to Obey Yield Sign, Failure to Use Child Restrain Device, and Operating without Registration, all simple misdemeanors.  Pattison was taken into custody and transported to Fayette County jail, where he awaited initial appearance. 


On 12/29/18 at 11:48 AM the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a vehicle rollover at 280th St and Harding Rd. An investigation determined that Layne Anthony Guerrero age 19 from Postville was operating as 2002 Nissan Maxima northbound on Harding Rd when a south bound vehicle crossed into his path.  In an attempt to avoid a head-on collision Guerrero hit the shoulder where he lost control. The vehicle entered into the east ditch and rolled onto the driver’s side. Guerrero was not injured. The vehicle was considered a total loss. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Clermont Fire and Ambulance. (photo)


On December 29, 2018, at approximately 12:04 am the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Cedar Road near 215th Street; just south of Elgin. When Deputies arrived the vehicle was unoccupied. A Black 1997 Oldsmobile 88 LS was traveling north bound when it lost traction and entered the west side ditch. The Oldsmobile struck and knocked down a road sign, and struck power pole guide wires. The Oldsmobile sustained approximately $5000 in damage. After further investigation, it was determined that Colton Lynn Gage, age 29 of Wadena, was the driver. Gage and his passenger reported no injuries. This accident still remains under investigation.
