High Speed Chase

On December 16, 2018 at about 12:10 AM a Grant County Sheriff's Deputy attempted to stop a truck driven by Tyler Nihles, 26, of rural Lancaster, for speeding, 67 MPH in a 35 MPH zone on Hwy 35 just leaving Lancaster on the south side. When the deputy attempted to stop Nihles, he accelerated to speeds around 100 MPH and fled from the deputy. The deputy pursued Nihles to 8170 Hwy 61 where he pulled into the driveway there; which ended up being his residence. Nihles was taken into custody by the deputy with the assistance of an officer from the
Lancaster Police Department.  Nihles was arrested for Knowingly Fleeing an Officer, OWI 2nd Offense, and cited for Speeding and Passing in a No Passing Zone. He was booked into the Grant County Jail.
