Deleware Incidents

On December 4, 2018, at approximately 7:55 p.m., the Delaware County Sheriff's Office responded to a single-vehicle accident on Ivy Road near Edgewood, IA. Spencer Hutchinson, of Manchester, IA, was traveling westbound on Ivy Road when he attempted to negotiate a curve on icy roads and slid off the roadway and struck a tree.

On November 4, 2018, at approximately 4:40 p.m., the Delaware County Sheriff's Office responded to a vehicle-deer accident on Hwy 13 north of Manchester, IA. Dale L. Schake, of Dundee, IA was traveling north on Hwy 13 when he struck a deer that had entered the roadway.

On December 3, 2018, at approximately 6:03 a.m., the Delaware County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of S. Locust Street and E. Union Street in Edgewood, IA. Tyler Mensen, of Dyersville, IA was heading northbound on S Locust Street and was unable to stop at the intersection and struck a trailer being pulled by a vehicle driven by Peter Elliot, of Edgewood, IA.
Mensen was cited with Failure to Maintain Control.

On November 30, 2018, at approximately 5:16 p.m., the Delaware County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle accident on 160th Street near 310th Avenue. Austin Nerney, of Dyersville, IA was traveling westbound when an oncoming vehicle driven by Gerald Nurre, of Dyersville, IA, turned left in front of Nerney's vehicle. Nerney's vehicle remained on the roadway as Nurre's vehicle came to rest on the passenger side in the northwest ditch. Nurre was cited with Failure to Yield Upon Left Turn.

On November 29, 2018, at approximately 6:06 p.m., the Delaware County Sheriff's Office responded to a deer/two-vehicle accident on 272nd Street. Donald E. Besler, of Worthington, IA, was traveling westbound when he struck a deer that had entered the roadway. When the driver exited the vehicle to check on the damage, his vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Dylan J. Krumviede, of Earlville, IA.

On November 29, 2018, at approximately 5:37 a.m., the Delaware County Sheriff's Office responded to a vehicle-deer accident on Honey Creek Road. Michael Mcaulay, of Manchester, IA, was northbound when he struck a deer that had entered the roadway.

On November 29, 2018, the Delaware County Sheriff's Office served a warrant on Russell L. Wickman, Dundee, IA, for Operating While Under the Influence - 1st Offense, Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The charges stem from an accident which occurred on October 27, 2018.

On November 28, 2018, the Delaware County Sheriff's Office served a warrant on Ryan Humphreys of Dubuque, IA, for a probation violation.

On November 27, 2018, the Delaware County Sheriff's Office served a warrant on Nancy Jo Sullivan, of Colesburg, IA, for Dependent Adult Abuse - Exploitation. The charge stems from a fraud call reported to the Sheriff's Office in June of 2018 and subsequent investigation.

On November 25, 2018, the Delaware County Sheriff's Office was conducting a welfare check at a residence near Manchester, IA. Upon investigation, Kenneth Miller, of Manchester, IA, was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault - 1st Offense.

On November 25, 2018, the Delaware County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on 210th Street and 332nd Avenue near Dyersville, IA. Christine L. Wohlers, of Dyersville, IA was charged with Operating While Under the Influence 1st Offense. She was also cited with Driving on Wrong Side of Two Way Highway.

On November 24, 2018, at approximately 7:21 a.m., the Delaware County Sheriff's Office responded to an unoccupied vehicle in the ditch on X47 by Windmill Road. Upon locating the owner/driver of the vehicle, the deputy was informed by the driver as to why the vehicle was in the ditch. Daniel Heiderscheit, of Worthington, IA, was cited with Failure to Maintain Control.

On November 24, 2018, the Delaware County Sheriff's Office responded to a suspicious activity call in Delhi, IA. Upon arriving at scene, the deputy located the suspect. Dillon Buelow, of Hopkinton, IA, was charged with Disorderly Conduct - Loud or Raucous Noise.

On November 23, 2018, the Delaware County Sheriff's Office responded to an assault call that had occurred in Hopkinton, IA. Upon investigation, Kyle Lange, of Hopkinton, IA, was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury.

On November 23, 2018, at approximately 2:16 p.m., the Delaware County Sheriff's Office responded to a vehicle in the ditch on Hwy 3. Brandon Buelow, of Manchester, IA, failed to negotiate a curve on Hwy 3 and Nature Rd. His vehicle entered the north ditch. He was cited with Failure to Maintain Control.

On November 23, 2018, at approximately 10:45 a.m., the Delaware County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 220th Avenue and 150th Street. Donald Maurer, of Manchester, IA, was traveling south on 220th Avenue when he failed to stop at the stop sign and entered the roadway at 150th Street and struck a vehicle driven by Scott L. Bishop, of Manchester, IA. Both vehicles came to rest in the east ditch. Maurer was cited with Fail to Obey Stop Sign.

On November 23, 2018, the Delaware County Sheriff's Office served a mittimus warrant on Deano J. Puccio of Marshalltown, IA, for failure to serve jail time.

On November 22, 2018, the Delaware County Sheriff's Office initiated a traffic stop on Adams Street in Ryan, IA. Roger C. Blasdell, of Manchester, IA, was charged with Operating While Under the Influence 2nd Offense, Possession of Controlled Substance - Marijuana 2nd, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While License Denied or Revoked, and Driving While License Under Suspension. He was also cited with Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability, Operating Non-Registered Vehicle, Failure to Maintain Control, and Defective Tires.

On November 20, 2018, at approximately 8:28 p.m., the Delaware County Sheriff's Office responded to a vehicle-deer accident on Hwy 20. Clayton Avenson, of Independence, IA, was traveling westbound when he struck a deer that had entered the roadway.

On November 19, 2018, at approximately 5:31 p.m., the Delaware County Sheriff's Office responded to a single-vehicle accident on 325th Avenue south of Floyd Road. Rick Mormann, of Earlville, IA, was traveling northbound on a snow-covered roadway when he lost control while navigating a corner. The vehicle rolled onto the passenger side in the ditch.

On November 19, 2018, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the Delaware County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle accident on 280th Avenue at the 137th Street intersection. Brett M. Faust, of Greeley, IA, was traveling south when he lost control of his vehicle due to road conditions and struck an oncoming vehicle driven by Kenneth Faust, of Greeley, IA.

On November 19, 2018, the Delaware County Sheriff's Office assisted the Manchester Police Department with an attempted burglary call. The suspects left the scene in Manchester and proceeded to drive away into the county. The suspects were followed into Jones County where they left the roadway and entered a ditch. The Delaware County Sheriff's Office charged Travis A. Camp of Anamosa, IA, with Eluding. Camp was also cited with Driving While Suspended and Fail to Obey Stop Sign. A passenger in the vehicle, Talitha M. Anderson, of Manchester, IA, was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On November 18, 2018, the Delaware County Sheriff's Office responded to a single-vehicle accident on 310th Avenue, Hopkinton, IA. Justin Trumm, of Cascade, IA, was traveling southbound when the vehicle left the roadway and entered the east ditch. Trumm was charged with Operating While Under the Influence 2nd Offense and Interference with Official Acts. He was also cited with Failure to Maintain Control.

On November 16, 2018, the Delaware County Sheriff's Office responded to a vehicle in the ditch at Honey Creek Road, Manchester, IA. Austin McDowell, of Manchester, IA, was traveling northbound and failed to negotiate a curve and entered the west ditch. McDowell was charged with Operating While Under the Influence 1st Offense and Driving While License Under Suspension. He was also cited with Failure to Maintain Control and Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability.

On November 15, 2018, the Delaware County Sheriff's Office served several warrants on Justin Trumm, of Cascade, IA, for multiple charges of Stalking - Violation of Protective Order and Violation of No Contact/Protective Order. These charges stem from incidents occurring on October 31, 2018, November 8, 2018 and November 12, 2018.
