Faeytte Fatality

On November 6, 2018, at approximately 4:10 pm the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received multiple 911 calls of a Semi-wrecker vs car collision on 230th Street near W Avenue; approximately 5 miles south of Waucoma. After further investigation by Sheriff's Deputies, it was learned that Thomas Edward Rolison Jr, age 18 of Waucoma, was driving south bound in a Maroon 2001 Ford Taurus when he entered an intersection colliding with a Red 2009 Western Star Conventional 4 Semi-Wrecker driven by John Paul Rasmusson, age 32 of Cedar Falls. Rolison was trapped in the vehicle and had to be mechanically extracted and was flown by Gundersen Air to a hospital in LaCrosse, WI where he later was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the accident. Rolison's car is considered a total loss. Rasmusson was uninjured and his vehicle sustained approximately $1500 in damage. The Sheriff's Office was assisted by Fayette County Conservation Officers, Tristate Ambulance, and Hawkeye Fire Department and First Responders. This accident remains under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff's Technical Collision Investigator.
