On 11/4/18 at 12:07 PM the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 60th St. and G Ave.  After an investigation it was determined that Loyce Bunn, 72 of Westgate was backing up a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country minivan on G Ave. when she was struck by a 2005 Dodge Caravan driven by Stephanie Mendehall, 49 of Milwaukee, WI.  There were no injuries reported.  The Mendehall vehicle sustained approximately $2000.00 in damages while the Bunn vehicle sustained approximately $1500.00 in damages.  The incident remains under investigation.

 

On 11/4/18 at 2:37 PM the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a report of an assault that occurred at a residence on Harding Road near West Union. An investigation determined that an assault had taken place and the suspect had fled the scene.  Kelvin Lee Guyer age 21 from West Union was later located his residence in West Union, charged with assault and arrested. Guyer was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he was held pending an appearance with a Magistrate.  The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the West Union Police Dept.

 

On October 30th, 2018 at approximately 7:02 PM the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a car vs. deer accident near the area of Q Ave. and Highway 3. Upon conducting an investigation it was discovered that Brooke Latham age, 24 of Westgate was traveling Westbound when she struck a deer, which was traveling across the roadway. No injuries were reported and Latham’s 2007 GMC Acadia sustained approximately $1500.00 in damages.

 

On October 31st, 2018 at approximately 7:55 PM the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a car vs. deer accident near the area of Highway 3 and Y Avenue. Upon conducting an investigation it was discovered that Nathaniel Weber, age 31 of Strawberry Point was traveling Eastbound when he struck a deer, which was traveling across the roadway. No injuries were reported and Weber’s 2012 Chevy Equinox was deemed a total loss.

 

On November 2nd, 2018 at approximately 7:45 PM the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took Sean M. Stakke age, 27 of Postville into custody on a valid Fayette County Mittimus warrant for failure to serve his two-day sentence from an Operating While Intoxicated charge. Stakke will be held at the Fayette County Jail until the completion of his sentence. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Postville Police Department.

 

On November 2nd, 2018 at approximately 7:25 PM the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested Graig Bemiss, age 39 of Oelwein on a valid Fayette County Warrant for Violation of Parole. Bemiss was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he will be held pending an appearance with the magistrate.

 

On November 2nd, 2018 at approximately 7:30 PM the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took Connie Conner age, 43 of Sumner into custody for two valid Fayette County Warrants. Connor faces one warrant for Failure to Appear for an illegal possession of prescription pill’s charge and one mittimus warrant for failure to timely serve her jail sentence on a contempt charge. Connor will be held until the completion of her sentence at the Fayette County Jail. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sumner Police Department.
