Red Ribbon Week is an ideal way for people and communities to unite and take a visible stand against drugs. Show your personal commitment to a drug-free lifestyle through the symbol of the Red Ribbon Week Campaign, October 23 - 31st.  All our area schools will be celebrating drug prevention during this national event. Please note that Clayton Ridge will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week later (the week of November 12th) due to construction. While schools have always celebrated Red Ribbon Week, 5C Coalition wanted to encourage local businesses and community members to show their support so students would see the same message around town as they would in school.  There are many ways to show your support; here are a few: wear red day – any day, car dealerships could feature red cars in showroom/dealership lots, store windows might feature red items and/or tie red ribbons on doors, restaurants could feature red food specials such as red frosting, cherry jello, etc., law enforcement officers can wear red ribbons on uniforms, medical clinics/hospitals might have baskets with red ribbons for distribution to patrons, libraries could distribute red ribbons, photos could be shared on social media of activities recognizing red ribbon week, schools can decorate inside and outside of the building with red ribbons, morning messages or announcements can provide reminders of drug free lifestyles, school websites, newsletters and marquee’s can offer information about red ribbon week, classroom or business doors could be part of a decorating contest with red ribbon week messages, or display a wall of support with pledge cards signed by students, faculty or the community to live substance free.

5C is a local coalition in pursuit of working together to encourage awareness surrounding alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.  We partner with community members or groups who want to see a healthier and safer future for our children and adults.  Please show your support of a drug-free lifestyle by wearing a red shirt or ribbon during Red Ribbon Week.  5C will be sharing pictures of Red Ribbon Week on their Facebook page ( throughout the week.
