Please take a moment to review the DRAFT 2018 Clayton County Comprehensive Plan!

The plan provides information regarding housing, economic development, transportation, agriculture, natural resources, public facilities, land use and more, establishes a vision for the county, and identifies a set of goals and strategies to assist local officials as they make future decisions. The process to update the plan included ongoing public engagement opportunities, such as visioning meetings, a steering committee, focus group meetings, and public think tanks.

The DRAFT county comprehensive plan will be available for public review and feedback for a 30-day period beginning on Wednesday October 10th. The plan can be attained by contacting Regional Planner Michelle Barness of Upper Explorerland Regional Planning Commission (UERPC) at (563) 382 – 6171, or by email at The plan can also be viewed online at, where comments can be submitted. The public review and comment period ends on Friday November 9th. Public feedback will be considered and incorporated in a final version of the plan following the comment period.

A set of meetings will also be held at three locations around the county to facilitate opportunities for viewing summary plan information, and for posing questions and providing feedback in-person. The dates and locations for those meetings are as follows. We hope you can make it!
