On 9-29-18, at approximately 12:30 pm, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received multiple 911 calls of a personal injury accident near the intersection of B Avenue and 20th St.  Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies arrived on scene and conducted an investigation.  It was found that Timothy Lee West, 56 of Strawberry Point, was westbound on 20th St and Michael Baker, 52 of Earlville, was northbound on B Avenue when the collision occurred at the uncontrolled intersection, south of Arlington IA.  Both vehicles had a passenger and all 4 occupants sustained injuries and were transported by ambulance to the hospital.  Both vehicles, the 2014 Buick Enclave and the 2007 Chevy Suburban, were considered a total loss.  Fayette County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Clayton County Sheriff's Office, Clayton County Conservation, Clayton County Ambulance Service, Strawberry Point Ambulance Service, Lamont and Strawberry Point Fire and First Responders.  This accident remains under investigation and charges are pending.  

On September 30th, 2018 at approximately 6:47 PM the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a report of an assault that had occurred in the City of Waucoma.  Upon investigation, 31 year old Bern Daniel Larsen was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault Second Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor.  Larsen was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he was held for an initial appearance in court.


On 10-1-18 at approx.. 9:33 p.m. the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a car vs deer accident on Eagle Rd. Upon further investigation the driver of the 2011 Chevy Truck, Steven C. MCallen 27 of Elgin, was traveling west when a deer ran into the roadway and he was unable to avoid striking the deer. The vehicle sustained approx.. $6500.00 dollars in damage and no one was injured in the accident.
