Crawford Accident

On Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at 4:04 pm the Crawford County Sheriff Dept received a report of a semi versus car accident in Marietta township, on Hwy 60 approximately 1/2 mile east of Hwy 61.

A westbound 2016 Nissan owned by Jane Yahn of rural Boscobel, WI, and operated by Brian K Yahn 46 of rural Boscobel, WI, was stopped in traffic; waiting for oncoming traffic so he could complete a left turn into a wayside.

A westbound 2012 Kenworth semi owned and operated by Michael L Oberbroeckling, 63 of Garnavillo, IA, pulling an empty 2008 Tanker, owned by Tim Neubauer Trucking of Sparta, WI, rear-ended the Yahn vehicle.

The impact shoved the Yahn vehicle approximately 270 feet until it came to rest against a tree.

Yahn was transported to the Boscobel Hospital where he was immediately med-flighted to UW in Madison. Yahn`s car was a total loss.

Oberbroeckling claimed no injuries and was able to drive his semi from the scene.

Oberbroeckling was charged with Unreasonable & Imprudent speed/Failure to have Control.

The accident remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were the Boscobel: Rescue Squad, Fire Dept, and Police Dept, the Crawford County Hwy Dept, WI State Patrol, and Fry`s Towing.
