On September 7, 2018, at approximately 12:30 am, The Crawford County Sheriff’s K-9 unit, along with a Prairie du Chien Police Officer, were patrolling in the Township of Bridgeport/ City of Prairie du Chien. They observed a 2000 Chevrolet Prizm operating on E. Lapointe Street with equipment violations. The vehicle pulled into the parking lot of the Super 8 Hotel. After seeing the squad car, the two occupants quickly ducked down in their seats in an attempt to hide.
The officers made contact with the female passenger; identified as Brianna Walsh, age 22, of Beetown, WI and the driver, identified as Zachary Beinborn, age 30, of Monona, IA. Both Beinborn and Walsh were both exhibiting signs of drug impairment.
K-9 Breck was utilized for an open free air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of one or more controlled substances within the vehicle. Officers searched the vehicle and located a plastic baggie with over 5 grams of methamphetamine, THC WAX, digital scale, glass smoking device used to ingest methamphetamine and fake urine to bypass urine analysis tests.
Beinborn was subsequently arrested and charged with operating with a restricted controlled substance 5th offense, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of THC, possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia, operating after revocation, failure to install an ignition interlock device and probation violation.
Walsh was arrested and subsequently charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of THC, possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia.

On Thursday, September 6, 2018, at 1:07 pm The Crawford County Dispatch Center was notified of an SUV in the flood waters off US HWY 61 at Trout Creek Road Soldiers Grove
Donald Paulsen age 73 of Blue River was driving a 2006 Buick SUV south on 61. His vehicle's left rear suspension broke causing the vehicle to go into the right ditch becoming submerged in the flood waters.
Paulsen and his passenger Gordon Butler age 80 of Boscobel were not injured.
They were rescued from the water by passerby Army National Guard Members.
Paulsen's vehicle sustained suspension and water damage and was towed.
Assisting at the scene were Army National Guard, Soldiers Grove Fire Dept, North Crawford Rescue Squad, Wis State Patrol and Terry's Tire & Tow
