Burglary Arrests

On 8-24-18, Jason Fairchild, 44 of West Union, was arrested on a Fayette County Arrest Warrant; Charge Burglary in the 1st Degree, a Class B Felony. Fairchild also had warrants for Probation/Parole violations as well.  Charges stem from an investigation conducted by Fayette County Sheriff’s Office in late August.  Fairchild was taken into custody and transported to Fayette County Jail, where he is being held on $25,000 cash bond.  If convicted Fairchild could face up to 15 years in prison.   


On August 27, 2018 the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a theft from Country View Dairy, west of West Union.  Upon investigation, it was learned that 18 year old Kyrsten Lynn Brummond of New Hampton and another minor female from the Charles City area had gone into the business on several occasions over the last few weeks to steal money.  Brummond was arrested and charged with several counts of Theft in the 5th Degree.  She was transported to the Fayette County Jail where she was held for an initial appearance in court.  The minor female was referred to Juvenile Court Services for Theft in the 5th Degree.  This incident remains under investigation and further charges are pending.
