Memorial Services

Memorial Day services to be held on May 27th at 9:30 am at the Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery, rural Farmersburg.  In case of rain, will be held at the Farmersburg Community Center.  Sponsored by the St. Olaf American Legion and Auxiliary.

The Annual Harpers Ferry/Waterville Memorial Day Parade and Program will be held on Monday, May 27th with American Legion Scenic Post #722 hosting the vent in Harpers Ferry.  Legion and Auxiliary members will conduct services at area cemetaries according to the following schedule: Old East Paint Creek, 7:15am; Waterville 7:45am; Cherry Mound, 8am; Paint Rock, 8:15am; Cota Creek Bridge, 8:30am; and Harpers Ferry Sandy Point Cemetary, 8:40am.
Memorial Mass will be held at Saint Ann-Saint Joseph Church in Harpers Ferry with everyone welcome to attend at 9am.  The parade will begin directly after the service, approximately at 10am.
"Parade Line up starts at 8:30am and transportation will be provided for those unable to march in the parade."  The starting point for the parade will be at the church and it will proceed to the Veterans Memorial, where the Memorial Day Program will be conducted.  The Allamakee Junior High Band will provide patriotic music for the event.  Post #722 will present the colors and give the gun salute, the Legion Auxiliary will place wreaths and Taps will be played.
The Legion and its Auxiliary will also be sponsoring their Annual Pork Chop Dinner at the Harpers Ferry Community Center Monday, beginning at 11am.

Memorial Service will be held in the Garnavillo Park immediately following the service in the Elementary Gym.
Legion Auxilary members are requested to meet in the Elementary Gym Lobby at 10:30am sharp: Legion Members and Veterans of all wards should meet at the Garnavillo Gym Lobby by 10am on Monday morning, May 27th.  All Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and their leaders with their flags are asked to meet at the Garnavillo Elementary Gym at 10:30am sharp.
Follwing the Service in Garnavillo, the Legion: The Legion Auxilary members will proceed to Clayton to conduct the Memorial Service there.
Since the Clayton Ridge Band will not be going to Clayton, there will be no parade, only the Memorial Service.  There will be one bus going to Clayton and all Legionnaires, Auxilary members, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, are welcome to ride the bus to Clayton and back to Garnavillo at the close of the services in Clayton.
