Farm Bureau in Clayton County Celebrates its Centennial Year

Farm Bureau is observing its 100th anniversary as an organization in Clayton County. To celebrate this milestone, the Farm Bureau Centennial Committee has organized a day filled with activities on Saturday, July 21. The day’s events are open to the public and will be held at the Froelich Foundation Barn Event Center.

A tractor ride will be held at 1 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Farm Bureau members can enjoy free admission to tours of the Froelich General Store. Kid’s activities and a scavenger hunt are also planned. A limited number of commemorative Red Wing crocks will be available to members.

A meal (reservations required) will be served from 5-7 p.m. followed by the 2018 annual meeting which includes the election of officers and directors. A dance caps off the day with music by Lonesome Road from 8 p.m. to midnight.

On behalf of the Clayton County Farm Bureau, we would like to extend an invitation to the community and Farm Bureau members to celebrate our Centennial and 100 years of service and dedication to the community,” County Farm Bureau President Erik Oberbroeckling stated. “We look forward to reflecting back on our accomplishments and looking towards the future as Clayton County Farm Bureau remains committed to supporting a bright future for our county.”

Though a lot has changed over the past century, Farm Bureau is committed to the people, progress and pride of Iowa, cherishing and representing the values Iowans embody: dedication to hard work, passion for the land, and character rooted in faith and family. Farm Bureau is dedicated to their mission of creating a vibrant future for agriculture, farm families and their communities.
