With the proceeds from our 1st walk in 2016, we were able to donate $5,000 to Parkinson’s
organizations to help find a cure for this disease! We also were able to establish a “Parkinson’s
Awareness-Support Group of Clayton County”. Our support group hosted multiple meetings
throughout the year, and brought in different speakers who focused on nutrition, exercise, etc.
Nearly one million Americans suffer from Parkinson’s disease, a degenerative brain disorder for
which there is no cure. This complex disease affects speech and motor functions, and leads to slow
physical movement, muscle rigidity, tremors, and dementia in its advanced stages. We are hoping
this event will unite the community and inspire people to make a difference in the lives of those who
suffer from this disease.
Thank you for helping to make last year’s walk a HUGE success!
