Boating Safety

The US Coast Guard Auxiliary has announced two Boating Safely Courses for Iowa.


Lansing - April 1, 2017 at Kee High School, 569 Center St. Lansing, Iowa

Guttenberg - May 20, 2017 at the Guttenberg Marina and Visitor Center, 715 S Park Dr. Guttenberg, Iowa


This 8 hour course provides basic training in the safe operation of watercraft including vessel familiarization, rules of the road, federal and state boating laws and safety on the water.


This course qualifies for the Iowa DNR Boating Safety Certificate

  • NOTE: Boater education in Iowa is mandatory for any person 12 - 17 years old, who will operate a motorboat over ten horsepower or personal watercraft (PWC).
  • Students must be at least 12 years of age to attend

Class starts promptly at 8AM, there is a $20.00 materials fee for the course. Bring your lunch as we will work through the noon hour.
